River Windrush

Witney, Oxon

A lovely little river in the Cotswolds that holds very large Roach, Dace, Perch and Chub. This venue can be tricky but the patient angler can be rewarded with a specimen fish to remember. Chub for example have been recorded over 6lb and 2lb Roach often make an appearance. This little river is well worth a visit.

Tips and Techniques.

Owing to the river's size, the roving approach often pays dividends. Try legering cheese to far bank cover for the Chub. Liquidised bread in a cage feeder with small bread flake on the hook can account for some great Roach. If you don't catch in one swim try another, the fish seem to have inherited nomadic qualities.
